Where a transplant cannot reach, SMP fills in

Scalp micropigmentation (SMP) — tattooing that makes up for sparse follicles and old scars

Scar camouflageWe shade over the linear scar left by an earlier strip surgery to match the scalp around it.
Added densityWhere a transplant alone falls short, we add pigment dots to build up the density you can see.
Shaved stylesOn short or shaved styles, we make it look as though the follicles are still there.

Frequently asked questions

The procedure is done under local anesthesia. For the moments that do hurt, such as the anesthetic injections, we add sedation so that you sleep through them. Once the anesthetic has taken effect, most patients feel little or nothing during surgery.

FUT (strip) leaves a fine linear scar at the back of the scalp; FUE (no strip) leaves small dot-like marks. Both are largely hidden once the hair grows out.

You can return to normal life about 1–2 days after FUE and 10–14 days after FUT. Recovery speed varies from person to person.

The transplanted hairs shed 2–4 weeks after surgery. The follicles stay put, and new hair starts growing from about 3–4 months on.

In most cases, yes. We first check the condition of the remaining donor area, then decide on the approach.

The shape settles at six months and the final result appears at twelve. We photograph under the same conditions so you can compare.
